中国旅游研究院(China Tourism Academy)表示，大陆游客 (mainland tourist)在海外旅游上花费了 420亿美元。同时，海外游客 (overseas tourists)只花了 380亿美元在中国大陆，同比下降7%。虽 然2009的官方统计数据还没有公布，研究院估计2009年的旅游赤字将是4亿——中国旅游业首次赤字。
