1.complain v. 1．抱怨，诉苦2．申诉，控告
complain about 抱怨，投诉，申诉
例句：i'm going to complain about the slow service here.
这儿的服务太慢了，我要投诉。

2.contain v. 1．包含，内装2．等于，折合3．控制，抑制，遏制
not contain oneself 不能控制自己（不能控制自己有各种原因，可以悲伤得、兴奋得、愤怒得不能控制，具体什么原因需由上下文决定）
a:marilyn seemed happy with her grades.
a:玛丽莲好像对她的成绩很高兴。
b:happy? she could hardly contain herself.
b:高兴？她几乎都控制不住自己了。

3.hotel n. 旅社，旅馆
hotel desk 前台（同front desk）

4.start v. 1．开始，着手2．动身3．惊奇，吃惊
start the thing going 促使…发生，引发(cause sth. to take place; inspire)
例句：placing a couple of coins in the hat to start the thing going soon became a regular ritual.
住帽子里放两个硬币来引发这个过程不久就成为一种固定的套路。
start with 以...开始(have... as the beginning)
a:do you know jim works as a dish-washer at a restaurant around the corner?
a:你知道吉姆在拐角处的一家饭馆刷盘子吗？
b:it isn't a bad job to start with.
b:作为开端，这项工作也不错了。
