看这两辆车子，哪一辆旧些?
That's an easy question.
这是非常容易回答的问题
Of course,the car on the left is older than the one on the right
当然左边那辆要比右边那辆旧
The car on the left was expensive,difficult to drive
左边的那辆贵难驾驶
and it wasn't very reliable.
而且不牢固
Only a few people could buy a car like this.
只有少数人才买得起像这样的车
The car on the right is cheaper,lighter,faster and easier to drive
右边的那辆便宜，轻便，快捷，而且容易驾驶
Millions of people can buy a car like this.
像这样的车数百万人都买得起
Why are modern cars so cheap and reliable?
为什么现代的汽车又便宜又牢靠?
Because the makers build millions of cars.
因为制造厂商们成百万辆地生产
and make them all exactly the same.
而且都造得一模一样
We call this"mass-production".
我们把这叫做大批量生产
Mass-produced things are usually cheap.
大批量生产的东西总是便宜的
