　　The chart above shows the number of MS/MA candidates has been climbing over the past years. It has rocketed to 1.3 million in the year of 2005. People at different walks of life may ask why.
　　In the first place, we are living in an era of knowledge explosion. If we want to survive in the current society, we must have a good command of knowledge. Therefore, more and more people apply for MA/MS degree after their four-year college education. In the second place, nowadays, it’s difficult to find a good job just with a college degree. In order to find a better job, more people further their education.
　　Therefore, they would like to conduct further study instead of doing the work that they dislike. As a consequence, more and more people apply for MA/MS degree, which has led to the great increase of MA/MS candidates.
