　　Sample answer: well, personally, I would like the teacher to assign topics to students for two reasons. First, it is a better way to enlarge our knowledge. As you know, there are always some topics that are of little interest to us. If we only focus on the topics that we are interested in, we will never have a chance to get to know the knowledge beyond that. Besides, since so many fields of study are related, you never know when knowledge from one area will be helpful in another. It will definitely broaden my academic horizon. In conclusion, as the saying goes, “Knowledge is power”， sufficient knowledge can carve out a way to success. Therefore, it is necessary for teachers to assign the topic to students.
