The establishment of China’s first soccer college on Sept. 29 may give new hope to Chinese fans upset about their underperforming national team. The new college is affiliated with Chengdu University.
　　9月29日，成都成立了中国首所足球学院，这可能会给因为国足的萎靡表现而情绪不佳的球迷们一个新的希望。这座新的足球学院隶属于成都大学。
　　Xu Ming, president of the college, said that the aims of the new institution include promoting the development of China’s soccer industry, increasing the number of soccer players in China and raising the overall level of China’s soccer ability.
　　据足球学院院长徐明(音)表示，成立这一新机构的目的包括要促进中国足球产业的发展、增加中国足球运动员的数量、并且提高中国足球能力整体水平。
　　Graduates of the new program will be granted a bachelor’s degree in soccer. The school will also offer non-degree programs that train soccer instructors for primary and middle schools, as well as soccer tournament referees.
　　这一新专业的毕业生们将会被授予足球学士学位。该学院还将提供非学位课程，培养中小学足球教练和足球比赛裁判。
　　The college plans to recruit 100 freshmen every year, and it will also establish a soccer club to participate in China’s professional league.
　　该学院计划每年招生100人，同时还将成立一个足球俱乐部参加中国职业联赛。
