　　For the last few years, university students have been given the chance to choose a few optional courses in addition to the mandatory courses of their majors.

　　最近几年来，除了上专业必修课之外，大学生们还有机会选学一些选修课。

　　Because it has become known that some students end up spending more time on their elective classes than on their required classes, not everyone is entirely satisfied with this system. In fact, some students have even had to drop out of university because of failing grades due to the amount of time and effort spent on the optional classes.

　　大家都知晓的一点却是，有些学生最后往往花费很多的时间在选修课上，因此忽略了必修课程，所以并非所有人都完全赞同这种选课制度。事实上，有些学生因为选修课占用了大量时间和精力，导致专业课挂科，而不得不退学。

　　However, I believe that optional courses provide students with many benefits. Not only are students given a platform to pursue some of their own interests, but they are also forced to make some decisions on their own, which is an important aspect of adulthood.(130 words)

　　不过，我认为选修课会让学生们受益匪浅。这不仅给学生们提供了一个平台来发展自己的个人爱好，而且迫使他们独立作决定，这种抉择的能力是衡量一个人成熟与否的重要方面。
